Last Softball Game of the 2013 Season

As the summer started in full swing and we started relaxing, playing, and enjoying our time off, it was time for the softball season to come to an end.  Abbie also did a hitting camp in June and it was fun to see her skills progressing.  She has really enjoyed playing with this group of girls this year and there is talk of these girls becoming a competitive traveling team for next year.  The girls will continue practicing throughout the summer and trying to set up some games against a Select team to see how things may progress.  I think my favorite part of this year was that you could see the girls really start to understand the game.  They understood outs and where to throw the ball to get an out and how to work together to get the ball there.

Look at that effort to get the ball to 3rd Base

I think she looks so darn cute.  She still looks little to me while she is ready for a play to come her way.

What is that expression on her face?  Concentration?  Surprise?  Aggression?

Getting some advice from Coach Andy

Chatting with her buddy Norah

She still fills her mitt with dirt sometimes between plays.  After all, she is still a kid. (And sometimes it is a LONG time before a ball comes into play.)

Sometimes Abbie and Gabby would do a special handshake after a play.

The biggest fan section filled with sisters of players

Jackie, Rylee, and Malia can't always be serious as they cheer on their favorite team!
