6th and FINAL soccer--May 17, 2009

The sixth and final day of soccer actually was bittersweet. Abbie loved to play soccer and we were enjoying seeing her progress. We were freezing most days though...who would have thought that soccer in May would have been so chilly!

This is Abbie's U4 team with Bill Clark as coach. All of the girls lived up in our neighborhood. Starting in back left: Emily, Ruby, Norah, Abbie and Jordan and Melanie in front.

Waiting in the wings to assist Norah if she needs it

Um, looks like Abbie and Norah were doing some mental preparation becoming "one with the ball"

Alright, Abbie still did some hair twisting at the end of the season but nothing like she did at the beginning where she would stand and watch the others kick the ball all around her while she stood and twisted her hair.

Woo Hoo! Gave us the "way to go sign" after scoring her SECOND goal of the game! And that was two goals in the CORRECT goal! I told you she really improved during the season. Her skills and her understanding of the game really progressed. That doesn't mean I am ready to be a soccer family though!

5th Soccer--May 14, 2009

Another brisk spring day filled with 4-year-old soccer games....

Jeremy has been working with Abbie at home fine tuning her soccer skills. His advice, "Push everybody out of the way and kick the ball." He should further explain not EVERYONE, just those on the opposite team.

Taking their turn out of the game

Rylee tried out the new jogging stroller at this weeks game

Rylee's outer wear looks suited for the middle of March not May!!??!

Mother's Day

Mother's Day weekend was jam packed with family functions from BBQs to soccer games. I couldn't ask for a better weekend.

Waking up Mother's Day morning and cuddling with both girls...doesn't get any better than that! :)

Jeremy and the girls bought me a double seater jogging stroller. Bye Bye baby weight!

More soccer....each game we are so impressed at how much better Abbie gets, not only skill-wise but the basic concept of the game.

One of the reasons Abbie loved soccer so much was because she got to do it with her friend Norah...

In spirit of mother's day I used some questions I found on my friend Melissa's blog and asked them to see Abbie's view on things...

Rylee at 5 months

I can't believe where time has gone. Rylee is already 5 months old and what a happy baby! She is so easy to please and she just laughs and smiles most of the day. We are so lucky!

Right now Rylee loves bath time and kicking her feet in the water. She rolls easily to the right and moves most of where she wants to go by kicking her feet and scooting upwards. Abbie is a huge help and will recognize Rylee is moving while she is laying in the bed and so Abbie will run and lay down next to her so she can't roll off. Abbie is such a good big sister.

Rylee likes to help hold her bottle and is eating cereal (and loving it---she gets so excited when she sees me get out the box of cereal and then will get fussy if I don't make it fast enough and will grab my hand and pull it towards her telling me to hurry up and get to shoveling). She recognizes people now and has a definite opinion about who holds her or takes her....she cries now if someone she doesn't know tries to hold her. Rylee is such a fun age right now, the only draw back...she still gets up 2 times per night.

Rylee's smile can bring a smile to anyone else's face too... Look at how her whole face lights up when she smiles.

We tried out the jumper one day while I was cooking in the kitchen...she thought it was okay, not great. She had a hard time actually jumping with the socks on the tile floor.

Jeremy's Birthday

We celebrated Jeremy's birthday with just the 4 of us. Abbie and I made him hamburgers for dinner and a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. Not sure if that was Jeremy's choice or Abbie's.

We bought him his own camera to take pictures while at work.

We chose 3 candles since he is somewhere in his thirties. Notice Rylee is trying awfully hard to be a part of the action.

Making a wish....
